JOHN DEWEY "JACK" MATHISON

GENEVA - John "Jack" Dewey Mathison, 77, passed away, Thursday, December 14, 2017, at Autumn Leaves of St. Charles. Jack was born in Chicago the son of Albert and Gertrude (nee Hanat) Mathison. He was united in marriage to Judith Louise Link June 16, 1962, in Chicago, IL. Jack had a wonderful and enjoyable career in the grocery store industry. Jack possessed great vison, organizational and leadership skills which advanced Jack's career from a bottle sorter to a grocery chain executive. Jack obtained his Masters in Business Administration from the University of Michigan which converted him to a lifelong Wolverine. Jack's faith was an important part of his life, he served as the financial warden, and a financial counselor to many at the Church of the Good Samaritan in Pennsylvania. He is survived by his wife Judith of Geneva; four children Blake (Florence), Brooke (Pamela), Brent (Sharon) and Dr. Susan (Edward) Morrison; twelve grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his grandson Andrew Mathison and a sister Marilyn Erwin. A memorial service will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at Chapelstreet Church 2300 South Street Geneva, IL. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the church. Interment will be held private in Mt. Emblem Cemetery in Elmhurst, IL.
