Mary McCormick Obituary

Mary Patricia "Pat" McCormick

Mary Patricia "Pat" McCormick, age 91, of Geneva, passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at Delnor Hospital with her loving family by her side.

She was born May 20, 1934, in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of Leona Callahan Henry and Glen Paul Henry.

Pat, a devoted mother, wife, and caregiver, passed away at the age of 91, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and service.

She began her career in healthcare after graduating from St. Louis University with a degree in Nursing. Her compassion and dedication led her to care for others early in life, and later, her adventurous spirit took her to the skies as a stewardess with American Airlines.

While living in Los Angeles, Pat met the love of her life, and they were married on August 5, 1961, in her hometown of St. Louis. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised four children, who were the pride of her heart.

After dedicating many years to her family, Pat returned to school and earned her master’s degree in nursing from University of St. Francis. She resumed her career in healthcare at Northwestern Community Hospital, where she brought comfort and skill to her patients. Later, she returned to American Airlines -- this time as a flight attendant -- before retiring and closing a remarkable professional chapter.

Pat will be remembered for her unwavering faith, deep devotion to her family, and the quiet strength with which she approached life. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, resilience, and grace.

Mary is survived by her devoted husband of 65 years, John; sons, Michael (Jessica) of Geneva, Steven (Terri) of Geneva, David (Carrisa) of Batavia, and Mark (Megan) of California; grandchildren, Michael, Collin, Evan, Ashley, Meghan, Keely, Rose, Mary Cate, JT, Jack, Dylan, Bella, Matthew, Jacob, and Olivia; siblings, Jules P. (Connie) Guidry IV, John (Sharon) Guidry, Jim (Sherry) Guidry, Andy (Karen) Guidry, Mary Catherine Guidry Simpson, Michele (Roscoe) Guidry Rucker, Paul E. (Laura) Guidry, Elizabeth Guidry Brandon, Rob (Ruth) Guidry, and Joe (Jillian) Guidry. She was preceded in death by 3 siblings, Tom Guidry, Barbara Guidry Davidson, and Glen Paul Guidry; and many other dear relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
