Philip Parker Obituary

Philip Parker

It is with profound sadness that the family of Philip Scott Parker announces his sudden passing on Wednesday, December 11, 2024.

Philip will be lovingly remembered by his wife Julie Lasics Parker, and son William Scott Parker as well as many close family members of the Parker, Kenehan, Lasics, Wessels, Kelsey, and Murphy families and, many friends and devoted loyal customers he served over a 30-year career in the automobile sales industry at Woody Buick GMC of Naperville Illinois.

Philip was preceded in death by his loving wife Patricia Loser Parker, His father William Scott Parker, Sr. his Mother Edna McGown Parker, his sister Karen Parker Kenehan, his uncle Russel Lee Parker, and many rescued dogs he shared his life with over the last 26 years who crossed the rainbow bridge and welcomed him into heaven.

Phil was an outdoorsman, bass fishing champion, columnist for Illinois Outdoors, and photographer. He coached little league baseball in Warrenville, IL. Phil also was an Assistant Scout Master for Boy Scout Troop 575 of Winfield, IL, and selflessly served as a mentor to many scouts, most importantly his son William, as he reached the level of Eagle Scout and attained it. He loved participating in the Pinewood Derby with the Scouts and taught fishing skills on the many Boy Scout camping trips he accompanied his son William on.

Phil also loved his Chicago sports teams, and nothing made him happier than cheering on the Cubs. He rejoiced when they won the World Series in 2016 and was a true and loyal Bears fan.

In the spirit of Phil's love of all sports, we invite you to a sports-themed Celebration of Life and encourage you to wear your favorite team cap, jersey, or any item that celebrates a team you also love as much as Phil loved the Chicago Sports scene. He would want us all to truly celebrate his life and doing this for him would make him so very happy. Phil was one in a million, and we would like his life to be celebrated the way he lived, with joy, positivity, and a smile for everyone.

Celebration of Life Saturday, December 28th, 2:30 pm at Gary United Methodist Church, 224 North Main Street, Wheaton IL

I'm so glad I got to visit with him on Mon. Dec. 9 (took my friend Ruth there to pick up her new leased car). We both had a most pleasant time chatting with him. He also was my salesman on my leased cars. Hope to come to the Celebration of Life service. A fine gentleman !
