I was privileged to teach with Frances at Martin Elementary in the 1970's. She was the one teacher in the school that every parent wanted for their child. I learned a lot from her. My condolences to her family.

I'm sorry to read of the Sylvester family's loss. I remember her quite fondly as my 4th grade teacher at Martin Elementary. Amongst some of our more unique lessons were "Horses sweat. Boys perspire. Girls glow." I use that one in my own classrooms. I also remember her tale of the cat who would swing at the baseball on the tv. She was a great role model of a teacher who brings just the right amount of personal to content and a fine lady.
