My strongest memories of Brendan are from some of the relays he and I shared. I was always a quieter person who didn't seem to show much excitement or energy for an upcoming swim, but Brendan was just the opposite. He was so full of energy and passion that it would affect the whole relay. There were so many times that he would be up before me and he would turn to me and shout how we could win but everyone needs to bring their all, and the energy that he showed would get my heart rate up and get me ready to go. He was a man so full of passion that it radiated to those around him, and that's how I'll always remember him.

Rob, Sue and Meghan, I am deeply sorry for your loss. Brendan was one of my first true friends growing up in the neighborhood. From playing catch, to adventures in the woods, I truly have incredible memories with him. I will never forget the times when Brendan would go into the woods in a white t-shirt and white shoes, only to come back completely pristine, and I would come back covered in mud...One of my favorite memories with Brendan though, was sitting on your deck when we were about 12. He looked up at the night sky and said something like "Isn't it amazing how tiny and insignificant we are underneath these stars? It's so crazy" It was so profound for me at that moment...Well, today I can say that the mark Brendan left on my life was NOT tiny and insignificant, it was profound and beautiful. I will never forget that impact he had and continues to have on my life. My heart goes out to you and yours as I send my love.
