Janet Trout Melanson

Janet Trout Melanson, formerly of Lincoln University Janet Trout Melanson (nee Mowrer), 89, died July 3, 2014 in Loveland, Colo. She was the wife of Laurence Melanson. Born on May 4, 1925 in West Willow, she was the daughter of the late Harry W. and Edith E. McClune Mowrer. Janet is survived by her children, Janie (Ted) Bogan, Jr. of Chesapeake, Va., Joseph Trout, Jr. of Memphis, Tenn., Joyce (Marty) Bagnall of Coatesville, Joanne Johnson of Creston, N.C., John (Marcy) Melanson of Austin, Texas, Paul (Sherie) Melanson of Boulder, Colo., and Mary (Gary) Edelmeier of Berthoud, Colo.; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Arlene (Maris) Trout of Quarryville, and Lois Herr of Kirkwood. Janet was preceded in death by her first husband Joseph F. Trout, Sr. who died Feb. 3, 2003; a sister Hilda Plastino; and three brothers, Warren Mowrer, Paul Mowrer, and Jim Mowrer. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 14th, at Reynolds Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., 144 East State Street, Quarryville, with Pastor R. Blake Deibler officiating. Interment will follow in Georgetown United Methodist Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
