Aaron Rank Obituary

In Loving Memory of Dr. Aaron Lee Rank

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Aaron on July 26th, 2024 at the age of 50.

Aaron was a beloved individual whose zest for life and passion for adventure left an indelible mark on all who knew him. A true wanderer at heart, Aaron had an insatiable love for travel. From the bustling streets of Barcelona to the painted mountains of Peru, Aaron explored the world with an open mind and a curious spirit. Each journey was more than a trip; it was an opportunity to connect with different cultures, meet new people, taste new food and create cherished memories. At the center of Aaron's world was his family. He cherished every moment spent with loved ones, creating a warm and nurturing home filled with laughter and love. Family gatherings were a special joy, where Aaron's culinary skills shone brightly. An exceptional cook, Aaron delighted in preparing delicious meals that brought everyone together. Often sharing and selling prepared dishes to his colleagues. His kitchen was a place of comfort and joy, where every dish was made with love and care.

Aaron is survived by his husband Tony Mitchell, siblings (eldest to youngest) Ronda Tiffany, Robert Rank, Robin Rank, many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends who were touched by his kindness and generosity.

Aaron's legacy will live on through the countless memories shared and the love that he spread throughout his lifetime.

In honoring Aaron's memory, we encourage everyone to embrace the spirit of adventure, live in the now, cherish time with family, and find joy in the simple pleasures of life.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to A Living Tribute in Aaron's honor.

Aaron, you will be deeply missed, but your spirit will forever remain in our hearts.

Rest in peace.

Aaron will be sorely missed. In the several years I've known him, he has been a true friend and inspiration. He coached me for the 4-year run up to the Conference in Dallas in 2022. I could not have done it without him. He was open hearted and very much a special person. He always brought Tony's spirit with him to meetings and all those things associated with being our Conference Chair and an integral part of the conference throughout the year. I was delighted to meet Tony briefly this year and to see what a beautiful person he was and how the two of them were connected. Aaron left a handprint on my heart that will always be there and, I believe, on the hearts of all those he reached. His guidance for dining and finding special places to eat and connect will be a big part of his legacy.

Aaron, I´m so fortunate to have gotten to know you better toward the end of your life. I met you, the first time,
at our (his paternal) grandfathers funeral in 1997. We were both young adults. After thanksgiving 2023 we had dinner with Tony and yourself and I´m super happy for the time and photos shared, although it was way too short and not enough.
You were adventurous and a decent human. I´m grateful my daughters and I were able to get to know you and Tony. I love you, hugs and love until we meet again.

As a nurse anesthesia student, Dr. Rank poured into me and my journey with anesthesia. He encouraged me to be curious, and try new techniques. He went out of his way to make sure I felt welcomed and supported. He was one of my favorites to work with and learn under.
