Joshua Rex Self

Joshua Rex Self, 48, of Collierville, TN passed away unexpectedly on May 15, 2025. He was born on May 31, 1976 in, Virginia Beach, VA. He graduated from Craigmont High School in Memphis, TN. Josh was an Eagle Scout and Explorer Scout who rode with the Sheriff's Department for 4 years. He had many jobs over the years, became a truck driver and later worked for Lowes. He loved going on cruises, especially to eat Guy's Burgers for most meals and rarely passing the soft serve ice cream without getting one. Josh was and avid football fan of the Colts, and a LSU & Saints convert due to his wife. He loved NASCAR during the football downtime, especially the wrecks. Josh was always smiling and joking, a bit hard of hearing although too stubborn to wear hearing aids. He loved to argue, pick on you, and loved to misunderstand. His wife has a long list of his hilarious Josh-isms. He had a great sense of humor, was a bit of a dog whisperer and loved impersonating his dogs talking. He is survived by his wife, Carey Self, of Collierville, TN; son, Jackson Cole Self (Mallory) of Memphis, TN; daughter, Adeline Melissa Free (Kiya) of Pea Ridge, AR; son, Ryan Seibert of Collierville, TN; daughter, Caitlyn Seibert of Collierville, TN; parents, Chuck & Carla Self of Walls, MS; older brother, Danny L Self (Susan) of Fayetteville, TN; younger brother, Nathan Andrew Self (Emalie) / nephew, Ezra / niece, Huxley all of Cimarron, CO; and a host of family and friends. Josh was a believer in Jesus Christ and a member of Oak Lane Christian Church. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Services will be held on Saturday, June 7th at 11:30 am at Oak Lane Christian Church, 10611 Collierville Road, Collierville, TN. Visitation will begin at 10:30 am. Cremation Niche Services will be held at 2:30 pm at Autumn Woods Memorial Park, 6240 Davidson Road, Olive Branch, MS.
