Christopher Patrick McLean, Chris (Crash McLean), 56 of Norwood, died peacefully on Sunday, July 1, 2016. His family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Chriss many friends in Norwood, Walpole, and Dedham for all of their help, support, and most importantly, their friendship over the years. Chris was very involved in Walpole sports and worked for many years at the Stop & Shop in Walpole. We would like to share the following words written by Chris with the help of his brother: Eulogy for Christopher Patrick McLean For my loving family and friends from the football in the sky. He finally scored a touchdown. The sky is blue, The grass is green,The sun shines on my face. A legend in my own time. My mom is my angel; my dad is my god. Unknown planets, life goes on. The past, the present, the future. My family and friends, I love them and miss them and will see them up there. Mystery sum-mer days. Dog days in sports. The best football team is the Walpole Reb els under John Lee and Chuckie Grant who were there for me when my parents died. Summer nights on San Diego Bay, Cape Cod Bay and Florida Keys West Bay with my parents at the golden gates. Family and friends. People I love and miss. I hope to see you at the golden gates. A memorial service will be held on Saturday July 30, at 10 AM, at the Walpole High School Football Field, 275 Common St. Walpole. All are invited to attend. My daughter living on Margaret St, I'd visit a lot, and
occasionally pick up Chris after or before he'd get on or off a bus. He was always so thankful.
When I drive down David Terrace I always think of him, and know he is in a better place.

Chris was a Blessing to all who knew Him. I knew Chris from the time he was a baby and he was always a Blessing to me! I grew up with the McLean
family, I never had a brother, Chris was like a younger Brother to me.
In the short time he was with us on this earth, he brought so much joy and Happiness to all who knew him. Rest in Peace, Chris, I know you are happy
now to be with your Mom & Dad, and in the arms of our Lord.
You will be greatly missed! Sending my Love and Prayers to the entire McLean Family.

Any one of us that played football at Walpole High School in the 80 and 90's will have fond memories of Crash. He was a kind and gentle soul and one of the greatest fans of Rebels football that ever lived. May he rest in peace.

A few months ago my wife and I gave Chris a ride home from the grocery store. During the ride Chris proudly told us about his brother's family and what each of them were doing. Of course we also talked a lot about Walpole sports. I am thankful for that moment with Chris. My deepest sympathy goes out to his family and to the town of Walpole.

I'm so sorry to hear of Chris's passing. Chris and I worked together a long, long time ago at Roche Bros. I had so much fun working with me, his smile was infectious! I would sometimes see him walking in the Westwood/Norwood area years later. He was one of my most favorite baggers! He left a mark on my heart and I will never forget him. May God bless his family during this time.

I am so sorry to hear of Chris's passing, he was a very bright star in a sky that often had lost it's shine. Just seeing Chris and saying hello was a happy experience. He was kind, sweet, gentle, plenty noisey and full of love. I can only imagine how much love his family gave to him over the years and how much you will miss him and his philosphy of life. My condolences to his whole family and may we take some of the life's lessons that Chris taught us and pass them along. Marge O'Neil

I harken back to Campers Haven trailer park in Dennisport on the Cape in the 70's where I knew Chris as a dear friend for many of our childhood years.
Back then Chris preferred to be called 'George' after Red Sox slugger George 'Boomer' Scott -- we use to play ball in the back of the park and that was his monicker.
I fondly remember George as the most influential friend in my life whose sincere enthusiasm and positive outlook has significantly shaped who I am today.
He would wander into our trailer and walk right in with a big smile and ask my mom, "Where's John-John?" Then we would just hang out, chat, and play ball.

Until our next game together, George!!

May the Force be with you!

I was Chris's Individual Support Case Manager at Lifeworks for a couple of years starting in 2010. He was always my favorite client to work with. Even after I left Lifeworks, he would still call me to check in and say that he missed me and loved me. He was a hilarious and warm person. I will miss him A LOT. I'm sad that I'll never get to talk to him about current events, who he thought he was going to marry, or his favorite.....Star Wars. However, I'm glad that he's in a better place now and no longer suffering. I'm glad I got to see him last month to say goodbye, even though I didn't know then that it would be the last time. We will miss you, Chris (aka "Crash McLean")!! <3<3<3

My thoughts and prayers are with Chris' family.
I would drive him at times when he was walking.
He was always so polite and thankful for such a small gesture. I know he has joined his parents in heaven. Anne White Scoble

I grew up with Chris as my mom Ruth Holman was the AD and later the director of Walpole Special Rec program. I Knew "Chrisy" from the time he was maybe 9. Chris was a real sweetheart, helpful, and easy going. He adored my mom and he was very special to her. I have wonderful happy memories with Chris at the Special Ed camp (my first job!) at Bird Park, the town pool, Old Stone School and Blackburn Hall, and all the bus trips we took to historic sites, the beach, and HoJos. May be rest In peace. With Sympathy from the Holman family.

I'm sorry for your loss. I was in marching band (class of 88) and I have so many memories of Chris running ahead of the football team when we played the fight song and he was always there on the sidelines. He was such a wonderful part of my high school memories and I used to see him around town on his moped.

I drove a school bus for Walpole High. Chris would always want to "ride with the cheerleaders" ! He always had that foam # 1 "hand" on for the whole ride.
What a great personality he had. Remember him well from those days. R.I.P Chris !

To Johnny, Mary, Kevin and Kent...I remember when Chris was born. I was only 10 years old and your mother Helen sent my mother a letter informing her of Chris' birth and telling her Chris had Downs like my sister Kathy. I was fortunate to have seen Chris a few times over the years. I saw how integrated in society he was and how independent he seemed. I wished Kathy had been more mainstreamed like Chris. You have a nice family who always treated Chris as if he was just like everyone else, and I'm sure that is why he blossomed so well. May Chris rest in peace. Love, Patty (King) Young.
