Daniel Douglas Steele

Our charismatic and beautiful son and brother, Daniel Douglas Steele left us on Friday morning November 13th, 2015 from a tragic accident. Dan was born March 5, 1993 in Newport Beach, California, the son of Kevin and Trish Steele. He attended Andersen Elementary School, Corona del Mar High School and Chapman University.At Chapman University he was a Producer for Chapman News and a member of the Chapman Panthers Football Team. He graduated in June of 2015 from the Dodge Film School at Chapman with a degree in Broadcast Journalism. Dan always had a love for journalism and sports. He played both high school and college football. His teammates describe him as both inspirational and a brother. Dan leveraged his high school journalism experience, degree from Chapman University and his love for sports into working as a Production Assistant for the NFL Network in Culver City at the time of his passing.Dan attended Our Lady Queen of Angels church in Newport Beach. He is survived by his parents Kevin and Trish Steele and brother Elliott of Newport Beach. He also leaves his paternal grandparents, Fred and Debbe Steele of Hilton Head, his Godmother Kim Giangregorio of Newport Beach and several aunts, uncles and cousins in the US, the UK and the Republic of Ireland.We were blessed to learn many valuable lessons from Dan during his brief 22 years with us. He will be remembered for many admirable qualities, but most of all for his strong work ethic, his ability to make people smile, his kind heart and his deep love of family and friends.A rosary and viewing for friends and family will be held on Thursday November 19th at Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church, Newport Beach, at 7:30 pm. A Mass will be held at Our Lady Queen of Angels, Newport Beach, on Friday, November 20th at 10 am.A scholarship will be awarded in Dan's name at Chapman University.
