Mark Whitfield Obituary
Mark passed away peacefully on June 27, 2025, at the age of 73. His life was defined by quiet strength, unwavering devotion, and a steadfast commitment to family and friends.
Born September 21, 1951, in Huntington Beach to Gene and Betty Whitfield, Mark excelled as a student and athlete, becoming a three-sport varsity letterman at Huntington Beach High School and a two-sport standout at Golden West College. He continued his education at USC, earning a B.S. in Architecture and serving as President of the SAE fraternity.
Mark's professional journey spanned a distinguished 45-year career in real estate development, design, and construction. He held key leadership roles at The Austin Company and Lincoln Property Company before dedicating nearly three decades to Donahue Schriber, where he rose to Executive Vice President of Operations and Investments, retiring in January 2020.
For 19 beautiful years, Mark shared his life with his beloved wife, Sheri Nazaroff. Together they created a partnership built on love, respect, and countless adventures. A loving brother to Scott (Pam) and Linda, devoted father to Sean (Sara) and Garrett (AJ), supportive stepfather to John (Jamie) and Pixie (Jonny), and cherished "Bapa" to eight grandchildren, Mark took immense pride in their lives and delighted in their accomplishments.
Mark was the quiet strength at the heart of our family, offering encouragement, wisdom, and unwavering support. Though we deeply mourn his loss, we are forever grateful for the cherished memories we hold and the lasting legacy of love and integrity he leaves behind.
