Mary Sparkman Obituary
Mary Elizabeth Riechert Sparkman, 86, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, Jan. 22, 2023. Mary was a member of Allen United Methodist Church and was found most times sharing her sweet voice in the church choir. She was an office manager for several dental offices through the years. She liked to garden and loved to paint, as she was a very talented artist. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Helen Riechert; husband, Samuel Sparkman; and children, John Keith and Jeannine Schjolin. She is survived by her children, Deborah Tumuty, Scott Keith, Christopher Keith, Sherry Pilarczyk, and Thomas Keith; stepdaughter, Pamela West; special sister, Avis Christie; special friends, Marcus Miller and Martha Fugate and their son, Marcus Blake Miller; and several nieces, nephews, many friends and her beloved dog, Sammie. A memorial service will be held in the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 30, with the Rev. Bill Griffith officiating. Serenity Funeral Home of Etowah is in charge of arrangements.
