I´ve had the privilege of knowing Mr. Donald Allen from working at the Hampton Post Office. For many years I would see Don daily to conduct mail matter and once awhile lately in the bulk mail unit. Our conversations grew longer with time and I am honored to have learned words of wisdom from such a knowledgeable man who was also kind, humble and funny too. The unexpected sad news of his departure is hard on us who knew him at the post office.
Goodbye for now Don. I am sorry we never get around to share a lunch meal together like we planned. May you rest in heaven.
Until our next hello.

I was truly surprised and saddened to learn of Don's passing. Don was an early mentor of mine as we shared a love and service to our industry thru the State Association. He will be missed but never forgotten. My heart felt sympathies to Nancy and family.

Don, you gave me the opurtunity to prove myself after my 10 year U.S.Naval service in 1993, I will never forget that. You were the best post service employer I had. If not for becoming a single father i would still be with you and the Lawson Family. My most sincere condolences.

Nancy and family,
It is with such great sadness to hear about the passing of don. He was a very thoughtful and caring person. I remember those cherry pies my mom would bake just for him. We thought the world of him. May God hold and comfort you during this upmost difficult time and that you find peace.

What a shock! I am speechless! I worked for Don and the Lawson family since forever, and a finer family cannot be found! I sincerely love them all. Don was the ultimate leader and had the respect of us all. And gave it as well. Even though I am retired, I still feel that sense of family bestowed on me for being one of the LAWSON LADIES. Thank you, Don, for being such a memorable part of my life. My thoughts and prayers go with your family.
