Glendice Booker Obituary

GLOUCESTER - Glendice Geneva Booker, 70, died on Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2001, in Riverside Walter Reed Hospital. She was the daughter of the late John and Helen Acree Booker and a lifelong Gloucester County native. She was retired from Southern Department Store as a seamstress and had also worked at Morgan's Pharmacy as a waitress. She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church in Gloucester. She is survived by her husband, Clinton M. Booker; two daughters, Charlotte B. Strawaser and her husband, David, of Gloucester, Linda B. Foster and her husband, Albert Lee, of Cobbs Creek; a son, Vernon Martin Booker of Gloucester; a sister, Frances B. Cooper of Gloucester; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Russell Sidney Booker. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 11, at the chapel of Andrews Funeral Home by the Rev. Lowell Stovall. Burial will be in Windsor Gardens in Dutton, Va. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Andrews Funeral Home, Gloucester, is in charge of arrangements.
