Our sympathy to the family. Although I did not work directly for Mr. Collins, I had several occasions to meet with him during my career with Leggett Department Stores. He was a leader in the "new" retail template for Leggett Stores that started in Roanoke, expanded to Norfolk, and then to Newport News VA. The opening of Newmarket North was a true vision of retail's future, in its day. He was instrumental in setting policy and furthering the Customer Service standard that the Leggett family expected in their stores. Mr. Collins and Dave Stovall set the pace for Tidewater stores, and made history in sponsoring and mentoring the "Leggett Tradition" in this area. He was missed when he retired from Leggett, and will be missed as a valued member of society. Our sympathy and prayers go out to the family and relatives. God Bless You.
