I met Jim when he was researching his first figure skating book back in 1999. Very nice man. Lots of laughs and many stories. He will be missed very much. My thoughts are with his family.

Dear Angie and family,
what a loss. I am so very sorry. I met Jim through Rotary Club (I was in Newport News, Vince was in Oyster Point) and we had many visits. Vince and I hosted Anameeka for almost a year, as you surely remember, and we went to Scotland for the Rotary International event one year. Jim and I had many lunches together while he still taught at CNU. It will be so sad to no longer see him or get his long, informative Christmas letters. He was so prolific with his writing! When he put his mind to something, he stuck with it. He spoke of you often and fondly. My condolences to all of you.

I greatly appreciate Dr. Hines for his appreciation and support of an older man working full-time and finishing his degree. He was also a good friend, well versed professor in many areas of life.
Sending prayers of comfort to his family and friends.
