I want to extend my condolences to Kristin's family. I was shocked to hear the news. I was heading down to Atlanta this weekend and really wanted to see her and meet the kids. I lost her number and Google turned up her obituary. As a friend from college, I have fond memories of long talks, dorm antics, jokes and a wonderful spring break of laughter. She was such an amazing person - so full of life and laughter.

To the Family of Kristin Yu,

I just heard about Kristin's transition and I am deeply sadden. I worked with Kristin at Turner a few years ago and spent a great deal of time in her office talking about everything. I was even part of a Graduate School project while Kristin was obtaining her MBA at Kennesaw State. Kristin was a wonderful person that immediately warmed your spirit with her smile and her laugh. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. My prayers are with her family for inner peace and strength.

Dear Lisa and Jim,

I am deeply sorry on the loss of your precious daughter, Kristen. I hope in time you will start to remember the good times you had with Kristen. Even though I had not met Kristen, I know she was a very accomplished young lady based on your loving and proud comments about her. My thoughts and prayers go out to both of you, to her husband, Stephen, and her children, Benjamin and Emily.

The sorrow is strong and will be felt for a long time afterwards.

Hold on to what is good

even if it's a handful of earth.

Hold on to what you believe

even if it's a tree that stands by itself.

Hold on to what you must do

even if it's a long way from here.

Hold on to your life

even if it's easier to let go.

Hold on to my hand

even when I've gone away from you.

Dear Steve, Pat and Wayne,

It meant so much that I was able to be with you on Sunday, May 1 and the following week. Steve, please know I am here for you whenever you need me. I'd like to share a little from a book that has helped me over the past 3 months through difficulty: "The Purpose Driven Life." "The situations that will stretch your faith most will be those times when life falls apart and you feel God is not to be found. How do you keep your eyes on Jesus when they're full of tears? You do what Job did and remember The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away. Tell God exactly how you feel. Pour out your heart to God. God can handle your doubt, anger, fear, grief, confusion, and questions. God will listen to your prayer." Remember Wayne's service for Kristen: God is for us and God is with us. Your Aunt loves you and the children very much and will be here for you all.

Dear Stephen,Ben and Emily,

As we were privileged to share in the most intimate Joyful experiences with your family, the birth of your babies, so we share in the tragedy of Kristin's death. Know that our love and concern are with you during this most difficult and painful time. We will remember Kristin as our positive, always smiling upbeat Mom. Her pleasantness was contagious and always made us feel better. She had a zest for life that people admire but few achieve. You will be in our thoughts and prayers and if we can be of any help, please feel free to contact us. Time heals.

To Steve, Ben, Emily and the Yu Famiy,

I am very sorry for your loss!!

When Things like this happen we are left with so many questions that we cannot find answers to, but we must trust that God had better plans for Kristin up in heaven than any plans we could have had here on earth. I had the pleasure of knowing Kristin through my Baby Ben as I usually call him. I was his teacher at Peachtree Park Prep and Babysitter at times, and although I moved on to work in my carreer I have never forgotten about you guys. I had many opportunities to talk with Kristin and she has left me with nothing but admiration, she is and will always be a source of inspiration for me. You know you can count on me always, I am only a phone call away. And please never forget that Those we love never die as long as we never forget them, and Kristin will never be forgotten. My prayers are with you!

Love always,

Those we love are never really lost to us. We feel them in so many special ways - through friends they always cared about and dreams they left behind. In beauty that they added to our days, in words of wisdom we carry with us and memories that will never be lost. I worked with Kristin at Turner Broadcasting and held the highest regard for her as a manager and person. I always found her to be smart, energetic, articulate, and driven in all that she set out to accomplish.

Often our conversations would shift from work to family. I also have a son, Benjamin who is a little older than your Ben. Kristin and I would laugh at the joys and trials of raising young children. One thing was always clear – the love and pride that she had for her family and all the hopes and dreams that she had for each of you.

Kristin was a role model for many people at Turner because she played the game the right way – with enthusiasm, vigor, compassion, and an overwhelming passion to do things with quality.

She will be greatly missed.

I am so very sad to hear the news about my old highschool friend Kristin. Thoughts of her come often, despite losing contact with her. I'll never forget having a sleep over with her one summer, and she had beside her bed a physics text. She was reading it to keep ahead with her studies. I was amazed as a 16 year old to have a friend who was my age so devoted to her education. This acted as a catalyst for me to change my attitude and become more serious about my education. The positive affect Kristin and her family had on me at a critical and difficult time for my family changed the course of my life.

Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

My warmest regards,

Lanette McNeil (formerly Wever)
