Michael Lutz Obituary

Michael Greene Lutz of Poquoson passed away at home on May 6, 2021 surrounded by family. He was born 4/29/42 in Milwaukee, WI but corporate assignments took him to live in many states. Mike's career was in the direct-to-consumer industry where he rose from warehouse worker to being the COO of an international catalog and e-commerce conglomerate. His professional career spanned 5 decades but he wasn't done. He delighted in his retirement job working at Graham & Rollins Seafood Market with his son-in-law and family. Mike was an avid golfer, fisherman, and bridge player but his passion was his family. He is survived by his wife Linda, daughter Victoria Harrell, son Scott Lutz, step-daughter's and sons-in-laws Tara and Casey Graham, Heather and Jay Hicks, Colleen and Keith Mahoney and his beloved grandchildren Aubrey, Trey, and Colten Hicks, Trent, Ross, and Evan Graham, and Kameron and Reed Mahoney. He was the absolute best husband, Dad and most involved Papa ever who selflessly loved us all. He was a larger than life presence that supported, mentored and cheered for his own family as well as friends and team mates.

A Celebration of Life and reception will be held at Tabernacle United Methodist church in Poquoson on Sunday, May 16 at 6:30 pm. Masks will be required. The service will be live streamed via the Tabernacle United Methodist church Face Book page.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to any of the following: Tabernacle United Methodist Church, Poquoson; Poquoson High School football, wrestling, cheerleading, baseball; Patriot High School football, baseball, Nokesville, VA; Brentsville District High School men's track and soccer, Nokesville VA;PAWS Animal Welfare Sanctuary, Poquoson; or the Cat Corner, Hampton, VA.

I first met Mike when I interviewed for a job at Hanover Direct back in 1999. I did not get the job but I got something more valuable a friend. God blessed us with Mike may God bless Mike and his family.

Linda, I was so shocked to see Mike passed. All the good times we had at and after work. I would know his smile anywhere. It is hard to believe all these years have passed and it seems like yesterday. May you find comfort in knowing how much Mike loved you and I am so sorry for your loss and the loss to the family Thinking of you and your family at this difficult time..... Neta Wagner Jackson
