Nikki Grandberry Obituary
She was preceded in death by her father the late Charles B Grandberry, Her mother, the late Nannie P. Grandberry.
Nikki graduated from Huntington High school in Newport News, VA class of 1971. and continued her education at Virginia Commonwealth University, graduating in 1975 with a B.S. in Communications. Nikki was a proud member of the HHS Marching 100 and she attended Carver Memorial Presbyterian Church.
Nikki originally worked as a reporter at a radio station WLEE in Richmond, VA. From there Nikki went to WXEX channel 8 (now WRIC TV.) In 1978 Nikki relocated to Detroit to work as a reporter at WJBK-TV.
In 1986, Nikki left television and entered the public relations arena by working at SMZ Advertising Agency. In 1994, she was briefly wooed back into television, co-hosting a morning talk show on WXYZ-TV called the Company (formerly Kelly & Company). After the show was canceled, Nikki returned to public relations. In Nikki's later years, she loved working as an HIV/AIDS and substance abuse outreach worker.
She leaves a small loving immediate family. One Uncle, Claude Livers and five cousins: Anthony 'Tony' Livers (Ancella), Joel Avis Johnson (Ruth), Joel 'John' Howard (Teresa), Tannis Johnson (Michelle) and Jawea Howard. Two second cousins: Akil Livers (Cathryn) and Lateef Livers (Melanie). Memorial Service will be held Saturday , Oct 23,2021 at 3:00 PM EST at Hampton Memorial Cemetery Chapel. Hampton, VA

Nikki Grandberry was such an incredibly talented and gracious woman. I remember how kind she was during our brief interactions. She remained warm, humble and accessible during the height of her career. May she rest in eternal joy.
