To Foxwell family and friends. Please accept my sincere condolences for your loss of Mr. Foxwell. Sometimes words aren't enough to get thru death, of a loved one. That's why it's important to draw comfort from each other as family and friends.-Colossians 3:14 says that: Love is a perfect bond of union. May that bond comfort the family during your time of sorrow.

Sincere Condolences to Doris and Family. Bob and I served together twice aboard the Heavy Cruiser, USS Newport News. Lt Foxwell was in charge of the 9in Turrets and those big guns saved many American lives ashore with their rapid response. Fair Winds and Following Seas, Shipmate. Dex

I served 2 tours in Vietnam with then Lt. Foxwell on the USS Newport News and reunited with him as part of our ships veteran's association. We had reunions and workparties on board the USS Salem in Quincy, Mass, and Bob was an active supporter. A few years ago he brought his grandson Alex with him and you could see just how proud he was. It was a privilege to know Bob - he was a great guy. May he rest in peace. His name will be among those read during a memorial service on board the USS Salem, Friday June 8th.

Bob's passing is very sad news indeed.

I've known Bob since the middle 60's when we served together aboard USS Newport News -- he was a good friend then, always the enlisted men's special friend in the wardroom, and remained so throughout the many years since that time. I'll especially miss seeing and talking to him at the Newport News reunions, I always very much looked forward to seeing him there.

Bob Will be missed.

Condolences

Is just another word to say I am sorry for your loss, Aunt Doris
It is also another word to say, we need to move on no matter what
Since the alternative is bleaker than the face of another
Tears welling, heart hurting, unbearable that might be
But we feel the same way about your loss, no matter
How far we may be, our heart beats with yours as you deal
With a love that is lost, a love that is held in our hearts
The absence of a touch, a smile, a kiss, a loving hug
But remember the love that was shared
It can not be lost forever, as long as we breathe
A life of another gone to another peaceful place
To be celebrated in our memory...........
Forever......

Dedicated to you Aunt Doris and to the Memory of Bob.

Hello Doris and family:

It is with deep regret that I learned of Bob's demise. I hope that he was comfortable in his final hours.

Bob was the Main Battery Officer on the USS Newport News in 1967 & 1968. I was the Fire Conrol Gunner (CWO2 at the time) and worked with/for Bob. He was a very sharp naval officer, and a true shipmate. Our relationship has endured through the intervening years. We exchanged emails almost everyday, and I will sorely miss his humor and terse remarks.

With deepest sympathy,

Charles "Gunner" Mitchell
