Henry T. Foxwell, age 81, of Harleysville, passed away on Friday, January 2, 2026. He was the beloved husband of Shirley A. (Martin) Foxwell.
He was born to the late Daniel and Martha Foxwell in
Salina, Kansas on May 16, 1944, while his father was on active military duty. Shortly after birth, the family returned to their home town of Cambridge, Maryland where he was raised with his two sisters Mary Frances and Peggy (Margaret).
A self-described small town, country boy, Henry loved the Eastern Shore of Maryland and it's deep roots within his family. Henry graduated from Salisbury State University, with a BA in Education and began his career as a high school mathematics teacher at Shugart Junior High School. This is where he met and fell in love with his future wife, Shirley, an English teacher. They were soul mates from the very start and were engaged within 2 months of dating. Their parents made them vow to have an engagement period of one year to see if the love would "endure". Their marriage endured for over 57 years.
Henry then went on to work with NASA on the Apollo missions. He took pride in the achievements of NASA and with the people who contributed to the missions success. While embracing his new career, the happy couple grew their family with 2 daughters, Diana and Lisa. They eventually moved from Laurel, Maryland to Lansdale, Pennsylvania.
Henry spent most of his career working in various areas of Sperry Univac, later becoming Unisys. He excelled at his work, rose to executive status, traveled the world and enjoyed hosting clients and colleagues.
The trees and flowerbeds of their home, along with the pool table and bocci ball were Henry's sanctuary. He was always ready to entertain, from casual game nights to holiday dinners. He loved music, dancing and his charisma would light up the room.
He had strong faith in Catholicism. During his retirement, he volunteered as a Eucharistic Minister for local nursing homes. During the last year of his life, he was devoted to further understanding the various branches of Christianity, Bibles and The Catechism of the Catholic Church.
Henry was a man of unwavering loyalty, honor and love. He embodied the mantra "his word was his bond". Friend or stranger could depend on him for a helping hand, resources, shelter or a shoulder to lean on during difficult times. He had a powerful ability to share strength and comfort with those around him.
His presence will be missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his wife, Henry is survived by his daughters, Diana Foxwell and her life partner Joel Oliveira; Lisa Tedesco and her husband Brian; grandsons Thomas and Nicholas Tedesco, sister Margaret Shipley and her husband Frederic; niece Brooke Ludlow and nephews James Duvall and Matt Shipley.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00am on January 31st, 2026, at Corpus Christi Church, 900 Sumneytown Pike,
