James Nathaniel "Droopy" BeasleyOn Friday, September 9, 2016, at 1:30 p.m., at his home, James N. "Droopy" Beasley moved from an exhausted earthly frame to a building of God. He fought a good fight. James, also known as Droopy was born on August 27, 1951, the third child of the late James and Genevieve Beasley.He was also preceded in death by his parents, James and Genevieve Beasley; brothers, Edward Beasley, and Tyrone "Randy" Beasley; and sisters, Avis Beasley, and June "Bug" Beasley Lipscomb.Droopy leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Ivy Beasley of Rhoadesville, Va.; two daughters, Ashera Wheaton (Wayne), Charlottesville, Va., and Rashida Beasley (Terrence), Orange, Va.; two grandchildren, Lenayah and Tyrese; one Godson, Wayne Wright; two brothers, Freddie Baker(JoAnne), Fort Washington, Md., and Earl Beasley (Debbie), Charlottesville, Va.; two sisters, Angela Beasley (Jose), Gordonsville, Va., and Marcia Marshall (Karl), Fort Worth, Texas; aunts, Doris Lee Brock, Upper Marlboro, Md., Lucille Mumford, Laurel, Md., Audrey Mae Carter, Gordonsville, Va., and Doretha Dickerson, Gordonsville, Va.; uncles, Matthew "Mac" Davis (Cynthia), Barboursville, Va., John Beasley, Md., and Ben Beasley, Alexandria, Va.; sisters-in-law, Antherine Hopkins (Billy), Selena Hamlin (Jeff), and Margo Lewis (Sammy); brother-in-law, Thomas Dade, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends; and a devoted friend, Wilmer "Sonny Boy" Cowherd.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday September 14, 2016, at Little Zion Baptist Church with interment to follow in Westview Cemetery.
