Brooks Tyrone Obituary

Herbert Tyrone Brooks, Sr., beloved husband of Malinda Bishop Brooks passed away on Saturday November 12, 2016, at Golden Living Nursing Home. He was born in Charlottesville on January 15, 1953. He was preceded in death bya beloved son, Herbert Tyrone Brooks, Jr.; his parents, Edward L. Brooks, Sr. and Lavinia P. Brooks; mother-in-law, Mamie E. Bishop; and father-in-law, George N. Bishop.In addition to his devoted wife of thirty eight years, he leaves to cherish his memory, a loving daughter, Jennifer A. Brooks of Charlottesville; two brothers, Edward L. Brooks, Jr. (Joyce) of Charlottesville andLarry A. Brooks, Sr. (Patricia) of Schuyler; two sisters, Carolyn E. Brooks and Gwendolyn L. Brooks of Charlottesville; two devoted brothers-in-law, Daniel L. Bishop (Cecile) of Charlottesville andTracey A. Bishop of Richmond; three uncles, Herbert Porter of Charlottesville, Edward Porter of Scottsville, and Carl Banks of Jersey City, N.J.; one aunt, Shirley Porter of Charlottesville, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 16, 2016, at Preddy Funeral Home in Gordonsville, with interment to follow at House of God Church Cemetery in Gordonsville. Bishop James Ragland will officiate.
