Gabriel Deane Obituary
He was born on May 28, 1982, in Albemarle County, son of Connie Smith Fincannon and her husband, Chris, and the late Larry Wayne Deane.
In addition to his mother and stepfather, he is survived by his brother, Sean Carr Deane and his fiancée, Michelle Sauveur, of Palmyra; his loving girlfriend, Lanserr Snead; his maternal grandmother, Mildred G. Smith; his paternal grandmother, Dorothy Deane; nieces, Kirsten and Brooke; a number of uncles and aunts and a multitude of friends.
Everyone Gabe met became a friend.
A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 4, 2007, at Beaverdam Baptist Church, with the Reverend Sandra Kelso officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. Monday, September 3, 2007, at the Hill and Wood Funeral Home and again on Tuesday, September 4, 2007, at the church, one hour prior to the funeral service.
Friends may send flowers or make a memorial contribution to the Charlottesville Albemarle Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 160, Charlottesville, VA 22902, or to the Stony Point Volunteer Fire Department, 3827 Stony Point Road, Charlottesville, VA 22911.

I dont know where to begin with the memories of Gabe, ALOT of fun times! It broke our hearts when we got the call the night he wrecked. I didnt know what to say to Johnny. I have started over a million times to try to figure out what I was going to say... I have so many memories of Gabe from when we were little. Gabe and Johnny were so close they had there own card shop with baseball and football cards when he lived at Hearthwood Apts. We would all walk the trail to go to the movies in the summer.. We have been through so much together, from Gabe being attacked from a chow, to late night get togethers, to watching him here lately with Nathan.. As soon as Gabe came home over a year ago he was at the ballfield with Tracie and he walked up to me and my mom and looked at my mom and he said some things never change.. I havent seen Gabe lately, but I have talked to on the phone while he would be with Tracie and the kids.. Gabe as we all know you loved those kids and Tracie, you may have had a crazy life style but I know those kids meant so much to you, Nathan will miss you so much and so will Kenzie, she broke my heart the other night.. She told me her "Stepdaddy" was very tired and he was sleeping...Those kids lost someone so special to them, I will try my hardest to help Tracie out but Im trying to stay strong myself through this. Gabe.. My family will miss you so much, We love you Gabe and always will.

Gabe was a very special person to me who I loved with all my heart. He was my best friend. No one could ever part us. I will feel lost without him around, but not only was he special to me, but he was special to my kids, Nathan and Mckenzie. He was everything to Nathan. Gabe was number one in his eyes. Gabe made him feel like no one ever had before. He was definitely a special person to him. He was always around us, and it was just 4 weeks ago that Gabe was at the beach with us, and just two weeks ago he was at the mall school shopping with me and Nathan. Nathan hadnt seen Gabe in almost a week, and it just so happened that Thursday night Gabe came to the softball field and saw him. As soon as that bike pulled up, Nathan took off running to see his "Stepdaddy". He told Nathan that he loved him and would see him later and then I got the call. He will be missed so much, and his special way of making all of us smile will never be forgotten.

Connie, I never got the pleasure of meeting Gabe, but I know how special he was, just being your son. I read a entry and the lady was describing Gabe as "as taking over the whole store with his sense of humor", that is how I know you. You are so special to me, and you are by far the STRONGEST woman I have ever known. I came upon Gabe's accident on the way home from dinner, I had no idea it was Gabe until I read the paper the following morning.
I am so sorry for your loss...I remember Gabe as that little boy running around Hearthwood without a care, his carefree spirit was a gift to all who met him.
I had not seen Gabe since he was a kid until about 6 months ago at a cruise in car show and he remembered me. It took just a minute to see his eyes and that smile and I instantly knew he was Boo's little Brother. He was a sweet boy who turned into a wonderful young man. I am glad that I got the chance to see him again if only for a moment.
I hope that God brings you comfort in your sorrow and I pray that you draw your strength from him. Gabe you are gone but you will never be forgotten!!

I am currently on maternity leave from work and I was stopping in there to say hello to everyone and I saw Gabe and Lanserr in Footlocker.I was ready to yell out to him but he started walking to the back of the store so I said to myself"I'll catch him on his way thru the mall" and kept walking.Well I didnt end up seeing him after that and now I'm sick over it.It was just last week and now I will never have that opportunity to cut up with him.Gabe would come into Zales and take over the place.His laughter and sarcasm was so hilarious.He knew everyone that would walk by the store so I used to tell him I was going to be the President of his fan club.I will be going back to work in 3 weeks and its so sad that I will never get to see him anymore.His laughter was contagious and I will always remember him.And to Matt S.,Hope u r doing ok!
