H. Hoffman Obituary
Mr. Hoffman was born January 22, 1947, and was a native of Gordonsville.
He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Randolph Hoffman.
Mr. Hoffman is survived by his mother, Doris Lawson Hoffman of Gordonsville; one sister, Linda H. Gallup and her husband, Albert, of Sanford.
Mr. Hoffman was a graduate of Orange County High School, attended University of Richmond, University of Delaware and was a 1976 graduate of Ruppert School of Auctioneer in Decanter, Indiana.
He was a devoted son and brother, cattleman, horse trainer, a competitive auctioneer and entrepreneur.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Save our Shelters, P.O. Box 27142, Richmond, VA 23261; Thoroughbred Retirement Center, 12044 Coney Island Road, Montpelier Station, Montpelier, VA 22957; The Brain Injury Association of Virginia, 3212 Cutshaw Avenue, Suite 315, Richmond, VA 23230; or to the Gordonsville United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 466, Gordonsville, VA 22942.
Memorial services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, March 4, 2007, at Gordonsville United Methodist Church in Gordonsville.
The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall following the service.

I was shocked to hear that Rodney had passed and that I had missed paying my respects at the service. We had some good times and I have fond memories of times we spent riding the roads. Although missed we know he is in a better way. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
