I only recently learned of Rev. Wright's death. My husband and I searched for him in relation to our upcoming 50th anniversary. Mr. Wright married us at St. John's church in Scottsville, Va. in June of 1968. I believe we were the first couple he ever married.
Me. Wright was a wonderful man. He was with our family through good times and bad, including the tragic death of my infant nephew.
I hope this message reaches his children so that they will know how much we grieve for their loss.

John was a wonderful person full of life, love, friendship and lots of laughs. He was my minister at Calvary Episcopal Church in Fletcher,NC. He was a dear friend to my dad Doug Ellis who passed away this year on February 9th. They are undoubtedly enjoying their heavenly life together looking down upon us joking and smiling. We all should be so lucky to have a friendship like theirs. RIP. Eddie Baker

I shall miss my father. He was there when I took my first breath, I was there when he took his last...
