Sandra Fields Obituary
She was born on October 28, 1955 to the late Nancy Mae Wood and Ralph Burchell Hasher. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Brenda "BB" Kay Whitlow and her son-in-law Walter Edwin Carrier.
She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, William "Kenney" Fields, their daughters Rachel McCue Fields, and Sarah Fields Christianson and Stephen Robert Christianson. She is also survived by her sister Terry "TT " Hasher Gluck (Bob), her nieces, nephews, and their families: Troy Harding, Kelly Troxell, Katie Berlin, and Katherine Anderson, along with a host of other extended cousins, aunts, uncles, family and friends. She also leaves behind to cherish her memory, her beloved grandchildren, Gabriel "Gabe" Bannister Christianson and Ada Hasher Christianson who knew her as "Darling".
Sandra was committed to serving others as a nurse in her long career at Martha Jefferson Hospital. Before her retirement, Sandra was the Manager of Admit Recovery, the Post Anesthesia Care Unit, and the Pre-Admission Assessment Office. After her retirement, she served on the new Sentara Martha Jefferson Surgical Planning Committee and on the Hospital Medical Administrative Board.
She was dedicated to her faith and was proud to have served as the first female Chairman of Deacons for Beaver Dam Baptist Church. She also co-founded the Crossroads Community Church with the late Bruce Hunter.
A Memorial Service will now be held at Beaver Dam Baptist Church in Troy at 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 9, 2023, with the Reverends Greg Wissinger, Daniel Andersen, and Martha Thorson officiating.
Contributions can be made to Beaver Dam Baptist Church or a charity of your choice.

Dear Kenny,
I just learned of Sandra´s death. As an anesthesiologist at MJH I worked with her for 21 years. She was an outstanding administrator and ran a " tight ship" in the areas she was responsible for. She was also a delightful person , always kind and thoughtful and I considered her a friend.
My condolences to you and your family. Sandra will certainly be missed.

Sandra touched the lives of those she knew and left a bit of herself with each of us. This world has been made a better place for her presence and we gain strength from her even in her passing.
