Steve did some carpentry work at our home in Upperville. He was a beautiful craftsman and we loved his work. He was also such a joyful spirit and it was wonderful to have him in our lives. We used to enjoy seeing him occasionally after he worked on our home. We are holding his family in our hearts and are so sorry that such a lovely man passed away.

Steve taught me how to use an adz, and located for me a good one I could buy. He would be glad that I still have it, and I'll think about him whenever I see it. I helped him some when he remodeled my parents' kitchen in the early 1980's. Last time I saw Steve was in 1986 when my father died. He brought over a ham he had baked. I'll never forget his lanky frame and big black beard, always with a good-natured countenance. He had a love for wood and had a big heart. Bless all those who grieve for him.
