Alan Levine Obituary

ALAN C. LEVINE AGE: 60 PATERSON Alan C. Levine, 60, "King of Paterson", passed away on Wednesday morning, August 12, 2009 at his home in Paterson, NJ. He was a graduate of Rutgers University, New York Military Academy, and Paterson Eastside High. Alan was a well known and respected Patersonian who made numerous contributions to his community. He performed most of his philanthropy through The Stanley M Levine Memorial Foundation. Alan was president of his family business; Levine Industries. He was also president of The Passaic Valley Water Commission, Commissioner of Passaic Valley Sewerage Authority, and Commissioner of The New Jersey State Police Fire Retirement System and Deputy Mayor of the City of Paterson. He is beloved and respected by his family, peers, and everyone who came in contact with him. He helped everyone he could by offering his advice or just by telling one of his elaborate stories, for which he was infamous. Just ask someone from the Breakfast Club. He was also known for his sarcasm, stubbornness and his heart of gold. He will be missed by all and remembered always. He is survived by his loving children, son Jeffrey Levine, daughter Amy Levine, daughter-in-law Toni Ann Levine, brother Theodore Levine and his five nieces and nephews, all of Paterson, NJ. He was predeceased by his loving parents Stanley and Selda Levine. Funeral arrangements have been made by Robert Schoem's Menorah Chapel at 150 Rt. 4E Paramus, NJ. Burial will be held at Mt Nebo Cemetery in Totowa on Friday at 2:30pm, friends and family will meet at the funeral home at 12:15pm. A brief repass will be held at The Brownstone House at 4pm. Donations in Alan's memory can be made to; The Stanley M. Levine Memorial Foundation, 86 Levine Street, Paterson, N.J. 07503.
