Anthony Robert Caljean, Sr.

AGE: 83 • Jefferson Twp

Anthony Robert Caljean, Sr., passed away on Thursday September 12, 2013, he was 83 years old. Mr. Caljean was a long time resident of the Lake Hopatcong section of the Township. Born in Mayfield Pennsylvania, moving to Dover, 1940's and then to Lake Hopatcong with his family in the 1950's. In Lake Hopatcong, the family started and operated Cal's Mountain Inn until the late 1960's. Mr. Caljean then established A.R.C. Liquors and later A.R.C. Motors in Lake Hopatcong until 1978. He had a variety of jobs throughout his life; working has a driving instructor, life guard, truck driver for Thatcher Glass and also a driver for Lakeland Bus.

Mr. Caljean was pre-deceased by his beloved mother Romayne Colagene, his father Thomas, step-father Joseph and brother Dominick Caljean. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Marlene Caljean; his children Anthony Jr. of Basking Ridge, Patricia Pinck of San Jose, CA. & Lake Hopatcong, Joseph Caljean and Melina Caljean also of Lake Hopatcong. His seven grandchildren, Adam Caljean, Anthony Snavely, Mary Podesta, Noah Pinck, Alison Bratcher, Anthony Caljean, III and Patricia Caljean; also his nine great grandchildren, Anthony, Romayne, Frankie, Lucas, Madelyn, Rhys, Mira, Madison and Acacia. Many cousins, nieces and nephews, and his partner in crime, Frances Esolen of Mayfield PA. Anthony was a loving husband and father who will be missed by all who knew him.

He believed in working hard to provide for the ones you love, but to enjoy your life and the experiences it provides. He loved his grandchildren and great-children and said that in life he was blessed to know them all because spending time with them, watching them grow and hearing them laugh was all that really mattered in the end.

Visitation will be held 3-5 & 7-9pm on Monday, September 16 at the Bermingham Funeral Home, 216 S. Main St., Wharton. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday 10am at Sacred Heart Church, Dover. Interment will follow at Locust Hill Cemetery, Dover. In lieu of flowers, donations in Anthony's memory to the American Diabetes Association, 1160 Route 22 East, Suite 103, Bridgewater, NJ 08807 would be appreciated.
