The loss of Chris Trumbo was received today via the chat group of my Franklin High School S-1958 class. My loss is that although I saw Chris daily in Luther Burbank Jr. High, and Franklin High in L.A., I never got to know him. We traveled in different circles then - but if acquainted today would definitely have a lot to talk about. Both of our fathers - Dalton Trumbo and Vernon Howard, were well known writers. And I will add with candor that they were not at all alike otherwise. Sorry Chris that I never got to know you - - Virgil Howard

Christopher Mitzi Michael Susan B, Hugo B, Mary, Emily, Linda O Crof Killian, Linc and then I came to Mexico City the year after and i also went with everyone still there in DF to Las Estacas near Tepotzlan and Verne and the Black List and then Mitzi marries my co-worker at the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. Chris, energetic, smart, partner often with my friend Michael who usually filled me in on Chris, briefly. You brought a lot of pleasure to many tv viewers, and you stood on the course of the matter of the Black List. I've not seen the film nor seen the play, but want to.

Christopher, you will be missed! Thank you for opening your heart to the Grand Junction community, and sharing the legacy of your father through the written and spoken word. I will always remember seeing your play, "Red, White, and Blacklisted" and being moved to tears. Your voice, Dalton's words, it was magic! God bless you and comfort your family. From your "favorite Colorado author."

My grandmother, Evelyn Roberts, attended High School with Dalton Trumbo in Grand Junction. I can only hope that Christopher matched his Dad's courage.

I am truly sad to hear of Christopher's passing. I had the opportunity to meet him and his family at the unveiling of a sculpture of his father, Dalton Trumbo, and again at the opening of "Trumbo" in Grand Junction, Colorado. His willingness to share the stories of his life was a remarkable gift he gave to the world and more specifically Grand Junction. His insights, creative spirit, diligence and humor will always be remembered. Peace out from the Dalton Gang and the Legends Historic Sculptures Committee.

Your father was a man of substance, courage, and integrity. Speaking truth to power is not easy. Your father's influence on your own moral character was quite evident. Rest in peace, and thank you for your contribution to a free-thinking society. Godspeed!!
