Jill Fowler Obituary

JILL FOWLER AGE: 46 SOUTH ORANGE Jill Fowler died suddenly at home in South Orange on Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010. She was 46. Her passing leaves an enormous hole in the hearts of her friends and relatives, and especially her mother, who treasured Jill as the precious gift that she was. Vibrant and enthusiastic about even the small things in life, Jill was gregarious and friendly and told wonderful stories. She loved silly hats, big earrings, Mexican food, the Dallas Cowboys, and her cat Puddles. Jill had a huge heart, a good soul, and great courage. Gentle and extremely kind, we will remember her compassion and her positive approach to life. She cared about people, animals, and many causes. She reached out to those in need, and often did little things to bring a smile to others. Although for most of her adult life she was in poor health, she met obstacles and physical pain with remarkable grace and humor, rarely complaining. Those of us who are left grieving will remember our Jill for her ever-ready smile, her wit, and her innate goodness. She is survived by her devoted mother, Rose Anne Fowler and husband, Richard J. Tisch, Chatham, NJ; loving father, Gary C. Fowler and wife, Jeanene and their family, Wheaton, IL; paternal grandmother, Eileen Cottle, Hutchinson, KS; good friend, Charles Gotsch, Maplewood, NJ; aunts, Janet S. Laird and Mary B. Montgomery, Hutchinson, KS; uncles, James Fowler, Hutchinson, KS, and Robert Fowler and wife, Amy, Overland Park, KS; cousin, Mitchell Montgomery, Wichita, KS; her dear cousin, Blythe Montgomery, Springfield, MO, and many beloved nieces and nephews. Visitation, 2-4 and 6-8 pm with prayer service during evening hours, Nov. 19th at Wm. A. Bradley & Son Funeral Home, 345 Main Street, Chatham, NJ. Memorial service will be held Dec. 19th at 4pm at United Methodist Church in Madison, NJ. Burial will be in Kansas. Those who wish may donate in Jill's memory to the Epilepsy Foundation of New Jersey, 1 AAA Drive, Suite 203, Trenton, NJ 08691 (www.efnj.com) or to ASPCA Special Giving, 520 8th Ave. (7th Floor), NY, NY 10018. Jill and I were friends for many years when we were in Middle School & High School. She touched so many hearts and lives with her kindness, compassion, gentleness and friendship. Knowing Jill has made me a much better person in my adult life. You will be missed so much. All of us who knew Jill were blessed to have her as our friend. My thoughts and prayers go out to Jill's family and friends especally to Jill's mother Rose Anne who was my 4th grade teacher.
