Estelline Bennett Obituary

Estelline Bennett our beloved mother known to family and friends as Nona, Auntie Babes, entered peacefully into the loving arms of Jesus March 29, 2007. Born May 3, 1922 to Albert J. and Wilhelmina "Minnie" (Hepperle) Suess in Herreid, S.D. As a child she was known affectionately as "Babes." When still a young girl she moved to Kittitas and graduated from Ellensburg High School. She married her "Friend for Life," Thomas W. Bennett of Ellensburg in 1942. The next 37 years were spent there raising their children, working and ministering in a host of positions as members of the Ellensburg Assembly of God Church. Moving to Tacoma in 1979, she and Tom took a new direction in life, widening their circle of friends and responsibilities, as managers of Alpha Park Apartments. For 23 years they treated the tenants as family and cared for the complex as their own home. She was preceded in death by her husband Tom in 2002, and twin daughters in 1953. Estelline is survived by a brother, Floyd (JoAnn) Suess, Bellevue and sister Vi (Karns) White of Kelowna, B.C.; three children, Sherman L. "Skip" (Gale) Bennett of Moses Lake, Ron (Gale) Bennett of Ellensburg and Darilyn (Eric) Lightner of Olympia; eight grandchildren, none great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and innumerable friends. Viewing will be held today from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Curnow Funeral Home & Cremation Service (formerly Funeral Alternatives of WA.), 1410 Main St., Sumner, (509) 863-2800. A memorial service will be held Thursday at Sound Life Assembly of God Church, 3425 176th St. E., Spanaway.
