Neville Rodgers Mulock
Born July 7, 1938 in West Chester, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Sidney and Amy (Stone) Rodgers. After being graduated from the University of Vermont, Mrs. Mulock taught English, History, and Sociology at Essex Junction High School. After attending Katharine Gibbs School in New York, she was employed in the Engineering and International Divisions of Pitney-Bowes.
While her children were young, Mrs. Mulock served as president of the board of the YWCA Darien, co-president of the Hindley School Parent-Teacher Organization, Sunday school teacher at Saint Luke's Parish, and a member of the Representative Town Meeting. As a volunteer, she also served as president of the board of the Noroton Bay Property Owners Association. After returning to the workplace, she was Director of Administration of St. Luke's Community Services in Stamford and Executive Director of the YWCA in Darien. After retiring, she volunteered at Person-to-Person and acted as community liaison for the Letter Carriers' annual food drive for several years.
She enjoyed gardening and traveling and had been to all 48 contiguous United States and Alaska. Her avocation was genealogy and family history; and she published several books which are in the New York Public Library and the Library of Congress. She made friends wherever she went. She held fast to old friends and applied her love of genealogy to constructing their family trees for them. A lover and scholar of History, her curiosity was insatiable. She loved doing a good puzzle or completing The New York Times crossword.
She is survived by her daughter Lyndsay Drew and son Luke Mulock and two grandsons. Mrs. Mulock was predeceased by her husband Edwin McCord Mulock III, her sister Jean Mills and brother John Rodgers.
A service of remembrance at St. Luke's Parish will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to A Better Chance in Darien, Person-to-Person or the YWCA Darien/Norwalk
