Lisa Nitz Obituary

NITZ (Tavis), Lisa Mary 53, of Bellbrook, went home to be with her Lord and Savior following her unexpected passing in Naples, FL. area on Good Friday, March 30, 2018. Lisa was born on October 15, 1964 in Langdon, ND, later moving to Indianapolis, IN with her parents Ron and Marilyn Tavis. She attended Indiana University and earned her B.S.N in Nursing, before beginning her training in Orthopedic Nursing. There she met her future husband Dr. Paul Nitz. Together they moved to the Bellbrook/Centerville area, where they have resided for 28yrs. Lisa resigned from her training in an orthopedic medicine to become a full time homemaker and teacher for their five children. She was actively involved with the Centerville Community Church in various capacities over the years. Lisa loved to travel (especially to Naples), help others in her community, but above all her greatest passion was caring for her children. Lisa is preceded in death by her mother Marilyn Tavis. She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Dr. Paul Nitz, children; Jocelyn Nitz, Deidra (Mike) Drake, Daniel Nitz, David Nitz, and Nicole Nitz; step-sons; Joshua (Sarah) and Jacob Nitz; father, Ron (Marty) Tavis; siblings, Mike Tavis, Rob Tavis, and Karen Roe; and beloved grand-dog Miley. Lisa will long be remembered for her kind and generous spirit, and her desire to always comfort and help those she saw in need. She will be truly missed by her family and numerous other people, whom she influenced and impacted. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:30pm on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at Centerville Community Church, 10688 Dayton-Lebanon Pike. The family will greet friends following the service from 3:30-5pm. In lieu of flowers and gifts, please donate to the Miami Valley Women's Center, 2345 W. Stroop Rd, Dayton, OH 45439, in Lisa's name. My deepest sympathies to you all for your loss. I met Lisa when I was in high school. She is one of the few people that I have known whose external beauty was only eclipsed by her gracious soul and a loveliness of spirit that l will never forget. May God bless you & keep you now and in the days to come.
