Robert R. ROMOND

1947 - 2017

ROMOND, Robert R. "Bob" Age 69 of Centerville passed away March 25th following a long illness. He was born on September 6th 1947 and was the first son of Dorothy and Joseph Romond. He is survived by his wife of 46 years Susan, son Brian and his wife Sara, treasured granddaughter Haleigh, baby grandson Andrew, brother Bruce and his wife Judith, nieces and nephews and his dog Bailey. Following his dream to work in Television, Bob graduated from the University of Dayton and began a long career with WHIO TV. He loved his responsibilities that included the Dayton Air Show, UD Basketball and Bogie Busters. He also won an Emmy Award and two IRIS awards during his career. After his long career at WHIO, he continued his love for broadcasting by teaching Broadcast Management at Centerville High School and as GM of WCWT FM. He earned a Master's Degree in Education from Wright State University during this time. Bob served as President and board member of the Americana Festival and also was a Trustee of the Holiday at Home Parade in Kettering. He enjoyed working at the Children's Christmas Parade in downtown Dayton for several years. He achieved his dream retirement job working at The Home Depot in Centerville where he loved to joke with customers as a P/T cashier. His last selfless act was to donate his body to Wright State University's Anatomical Gift Program. A Mass of Remembrance will be held on Thursday March 30 at Church of the Incarnation in Centerville at 10:30 AM preceded by a reception of friends at 9:45 AM.
