Steven SHEETS Obituary


News Death Notice

SHEETS, Steven A. 61, of West Milton, passed away Thursday, July 31, 2014, at Ohio State University Ross Heart Hospital. He was born August 15, 1952, in Dayton, to Charles E. and Phyllis A. (Nevels) Sheets of Dayton. On September 15, 2001; he married Michele Tincher of West Milton. In addition to his parents and wife, Steve is also survived by a daughter, Brandi Taylor of Portage, Mich.; four grandchildren, Jaice, Austin, Lauryn, and Parker Taylor; a brother, Mark (Maria) Sheets of Covington; a sister, Deborah (Mike) Wilkes of N. Carolina; and nieces and nephews, Mackenzie, Maddison, Zebulon, and David. Steve was a 1971 graduate of Meadowdale High School and served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, having been honorably discharged as a Sergeant. He worked for the Lord Corporation, and previously for many years at Emery Worldwide. He was a member of the Vandalia Masonic Lodge #742, Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton, West Milton Eagles #3621, and the WFSM Modeling Group. Steve enjoyed building model cars and military vehicles. A visitation to honor his life will be held from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at Hale-Sarver Family Funeral Home, 284 N. Miami St., West Milton. A time of remembrance and sharing of memories will follow at 7 p.m., concluding with full military honors. Private burial will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ohio State University's Ross Heart Hospital or Lifeline of Ohio. Online memories may be left for the family at www.hale-sarver.com.

Steve was my older brother. He gave our family many fun times together growing up. He had no idea or thought he touch many lives during his 61years, but now as he watches over us he knows. Steve was not only a son a brother a husband, uncle, grandpa and a Marine he was a wonderful man. It saddened's us to let him go now where he is need in heaven. Steve and I were very good friends, he saved my eyesight at a hara areana hockey game, the puck was coming right at me snd he turned my head to stop it from hitting me in my nose a nd eyes. Loved you Steve, you will be greatly missed
