Family-Placed Obituary

WANNEMACHER, Yali (Wang) Age 52 of Beavercreek, passed away on Tuesday, November 1, 2005 at her home. She was born October 2, 1953 in Taipei, Taiwan to Ying Wang and Ting Ying Wang. Her father retired from the Chinese Army as a Colonel and died in 1975 when Yali was a senior in college. She graduated summa cum laude from Fu Jen University in Hsin Chuang, Taiwan in 1975. She received a Master's degree in Microbiology from the National Taiwan University Medical College in 1977. She then came to the United States and earned a Master's degree in Biology in 1978 from Akron University in Akron, Oh. Following the completion of her second Master's degree she married Tom Wannemacher and they settled in Beavercreek, Oh. Yali worked as a research assistant at the Hipple Cancer Center in Kettering for two years, then worked an additional year as a research assistant at Wright State University. While working at Wright State she began graduate studies in their Computer Science program. She then worked as a Computer Scientist for nearly twenty years at Wright-Patterson AFB before retiring in 2004. In 1996 Yali was diagnosed with breast cancer. While raising three children and working she fought cancer for nine years. She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Tom, her children: David, a computer software consultant in Minneapolis, Mn, Daniel, a senior at Miami University of Ohio, and Grace, an eighth grader at Ankeny Middle School. She is also survived by her mother, Ting Ying Wang, her two sisters Chingli Lin and Guangli Wang and two brothers, Simon and Allen Wang, all of Los Angeles. A memorial service will be held at The Dayton Chinese Christian Church, 600 Patterson Rd, on Friday, November 4, 2005 at 11:30 AM. Services are in care of TOBIAS Funeral Home, Beavercreek Chapel.
