Alfred J.

(Pete) Dorris, Jr.

Age 84, a lifelong resident of Elkton, MD, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on April 3, 2010.

Born in Elkton on July 25, 1925, Pete was the son of the late Alfred J. Sr. and Catherine J. Greene Dorris. During WWII he served aboard the battleship USS Laffey DD 724. He retired from Conowingo Power Co. of Elkton in 1989 after 33 years of service as an auto mechanic. Pete was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his daughter, Deborah J. Welker and sons, James H., Peter M. and Joseph A. Dorris, as well as 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Mary E. Dorris, who passed away in 2004.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
