Age 91 of Kennett Square, PA passed away on Monday, March 28, 2005, at Ware Presbyterian Village in Oxford, PA. He was the husband of Ruth Wilson Johnson, with whom he shared 70 years of marriage.
Born in Sandy Bottom, MD, he was the son of the late John Douglas Johnson and Lottie Sanridge Johnson. Ollie was a mushroom contractor for 50 years, retiring in 1994. He enjoyed baseball, gardening, playing cards, family gatherings, and enjoyed going to the horseraces with friends.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by 6 sons, Arlington S. Johnson, Jr. of Coatesville, PA, Wayne D. Johnson of Kennett Square, PA, Lamont Johnson of Wilmington, DE, William Johnson of San Diego, CA, Tyrone Johnson of Landenberg, PA, Anthony R. Johnson of Kennett Square, PA; and 1 daughter, Christina Russell of Wilmington, DE. Other survivors include 1 brother, Walter Johnson of Glen Burnie, MD; 1 sister, Elva McDaniels of Sevis, MD; 12 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Family and friends are invited to attend Ollie's life celebration from 10-11 am on Saturday, April 2, 2005, at the KUZO & GOFUS FUNERAL HOME, "A Life Celebration Home", State & Meredith Sts., Kennett Square, PA. His funeral service will follow at 11 am on Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Union Hill Cemetery.
