Age 61 of London Britain Township, Chester County, PA, died Friday, June 3, 2005, at his res-idence.
Born in Lancaster, PA, he was the son of Davis K. Weaver of East Hempfield Township and the late Evelyn Pfautz Weaver. He graduated from McCaskey High School in 1962. He received his bachelor and master degrees from West Chester University. Mr. Weaver spent 37 years as an educator. He was a guidance counselor at the Stubbs Elementary School in Wilmington, DE. He also taught in the duPont School District in DE and the Wharton Elementary School in Lancaster. He received numerous youth service awards from the City of Wilmington and the YMCA. He belonged to the Lancaster Moravian Church. He was a member of the Sixth Ward Rod and Gun Club, Trout Unlimited, enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was a member of various professional organizations.
His first wife, Eveline Longer, died in 1976. He was joined in death by his wife, Nancy Senawaitis Weaver; and 2 sons, Matthew and Mark. He was the brother of the late Jerilyn K. McLain, who died in 1993. In addition to his father, he is survived by 3 sisters, Joyce W., wife of Samuel K. Nolt, Joanne E., wife of Charles F. Weaver, and Suzanne, F., wife of Harry E. Peters, all of Lancaster, PA.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral at the Lancaster Moravian Church, 1460 Eden Road, Lancaster, PA, on Thursday, June 9, at 11 am, with the Rev. Dr. William M. Hosking officiating. Interment will be in Lititz Moravian Cemetery in Lititz, PA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home of Fred F. Groff, Inc., 234 W. Orange St., Lancaster, PA on Wednesday, June 8, from 7:30-9 pm, and at the church on Thursday from 9:30 am until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his memory may be made to Christina School District, c/o Alberta Flonard, 600 N. Lombard Street, Wilmington, DE 19801. Please designate contributions in the memo section of your check to the YWCA of New Castle County or the Boys and Girls Clubs of Delaware.
