Deanie Lee Brown

Wilmington, DE - Deanie Lee Brown, 81, formerly of Cumberland, MD and residing in Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday, December 24, 2009 at Brandywine Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Wilmington, DE

Born March 24, 1928, in Cumberland, MD she was the daughter of the late Frank Himmler and Edna Woodrow (Jones) Sturtz and her step-father, John "Zip" Sturtz. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen L. Brown; a sister: June I. Butts; and a son: David L. Brown. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Deanie was a dear and loving mother, grandmother, and homemaker. She is survived by two sons: Jerry L. Brown and wife Terry, Elkton, MD; and Stephen P. Brown and wife Jane, Wilmington, DE; a daughter: Stephanie A. Harris and husband Keith, Newark, DE; a daughter-in-law: Angela Brown, Wilmington, DE; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; one nephew: Lloyd Butts and wife Joyce; and one niece: Deana Goodbread and husband Patrick, all of Jacksonville, FL; and a dear friend and roommate, Harriet Marley, Wilmington, DE.

Friends will be received at the ADAMS FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD, (www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) on Monday, December 28, 2009, from 2-4 pm and from 7-9pm.

A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. Ted Marsh officiating.

Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
