Joel Saltzman Obituary
AGE: 51 • Middletown
Passed away on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at Temple University Hospital. Joel was born in Philadelphia. He was a manager at Robbins Delaware Diamonds for 15 years. He was an avid Philadelphia Eagle's fan and an Eagle's season ticket holder. His favorite band was Rush. He enjoyed listening to their music and going to their concerts. When not working, he spent his time with his son, Sawyer. Joel was preceded in death by his mother, Sandra Bartolo, and his aunt, Jacklyn Katz. He is survived by his wife of 11 years, Christi (Counts) Saltzman; his son, Sawyer Saltzman; and his father, Ellis Saltzman, his aunt, Linda; and his uncle, Freddie. Relatives and friends are invited to the Service at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE 19805, on Tuesday, December 20, 2016, at 2:00 pm. A viewing will take place at the funeral home on Tuesday from 12 noon to 2:00 pm. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Joel's memory to The Trust Fund for Sawyer Saltzman, c/o Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE 19805. Truly a fine man. I will never forget the joy and pride that was etched on his face as he wheeled his beloved son Sawyer around. He stuck with his Eagles until the bitter end every year. His road in life was very difficult in regards to his health problems, but he met every challenge with courage and determination. It was patients like Joel who made the practice of medicine a gratifying experience. He will be sorely missed by all whose lives he touched.
