John L. Stewart

John L. Stewart, 88, of Wilmington, DE passed away on August 2, 2017 at home.

He was born in Wilmington to the late Louis and Vancie Stewart. John owned and operated Arden Barber Shop for 54 years, retiring at the age of 82. He was an active member of Siloam United Methodist Church. John would often be found on the golf course if not tending his vegetable garden.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Clara Brent Stewart and his five siblings. John is survived by his son Tim B. Stewart and his wife, Shelley and his granddaughters, Sarah and Emily Stewart.

A visitation will be held on Monday, August 7, 2017 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3924 Concord Pike, (Rt. 202 South of Silverside Road) Wilmington, DE 19803 where a service will follow at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at Siloam Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Siloam United Methodist Church, 3720 Foulk Road, Garnet Valley, PA 19060 or to Delaware Hospice Inc., 16 Polly Drummond Center, 2nd Floor, Newark, DE 19711. To send condolences visit: www.mccreryandharra.com.
