AGE: 71 • New Castle
Katherine D. "Kass" (Tressler) Tyrrell, 71, lifelong resident of New Castle, DE, passed away peacefully at home while surrounded by her family on Tuesday, December 2, 2014.
Born on January 29, 1943, Kass, daughter of the late Daniel A. and Katherine D. (Hutchison) Tressler, was a talented homemaker who devoted her life to caring for her family. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many, Kass will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Katherine, brother, Sgt. Daniel A. Tressler, Jr. and sisters, Mildred A. Arnold and Debra J. Moorehead. Kass is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Daniel F. Tyrrell; children, Rosemarie Witt (Harry), Patricia Tyrrell, Daniel F. Tyrrell, Jr. and Lisa Lankford (Bill); grandchildren, Danielle Witt-Kalmbacher (Nathan), Christopher Witt (Amy) and Jessica Lankford; and great-grandchildren, Katlyn, Matthew and McKenzie Witt.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6 pm to 8 pm on Sunday, December 7, 2014 at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 am on Monday, December 8, 2014, at Our Lady of Fatima R.C. Church, 801 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE. Entombment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Delaware Hospice, 16 Polly Drummond Center, Second Floor, Newark, DE 19711.
