Myra Wallace Obituary

Myra Wallace

AGE: 85 • Wilmington

Myra B. Wallace, age 85, of Wilmington, DE, went home to be with the Lord surrounded by loving family on Tuesday, December 29, 2015. First and foremost in her life was her relationship with Jesus Christ as her Savior. She enjoyed spending time with her church family and ladies' Bible study group. After the Lord, family was the most important thing to Myra. She cherished her children and grandchildren and loved all the times they spent together making memories. Myra enjoyed bird watching, visiting Longwood Gardens, and caring for the elderly as a CNA.

Myra is survived by her 4 children: Karin Gray (Rev. Barry Gray), Kimberly Henry (Keith), Stephen Wallace (Tracey), and David Wallace (Michele); 9 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; sister, Betty Parsons (Milt); brothers, Reid Brown (Annette) and Bradley Brown (Carolyn); and sister-in-law, Dorothy Brown. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 64 years, Jesse Wallace; parents, Ernest and Bonnie Brown; and brothers: G.W. Brown (Frances), Horace Brown, and Ernest Brown (Marion).

A visitation will be held Thursday, January 7, 2015 from 9-10:30 AM in Immanuel Church, 2414 Pennsylvania Ave., Wilmington, DE 19806 followed by a service in celebration of Myra's life at 10:30 AM. In loving memory of a wonderful lady with a big smile. My mom passed one month before her. You are so loved and missed! Bet you and Thelma are having great conversations in heaven!

I knew and loved Myra my entire life. She married my cousin, J.W. All of Myra's relatives are my cousins. Myra was always sweet and precious. She would sing with my mother, Mae Worley Banks. How strange they both died on December 29th. Love to everyone. Your cousin, Donna Banks.

Myra was always kind and gracious to me. I saw her not too long ago , I was so surprised to see that she has gone on. These friends are rejoicing together with Jesus : Thelma, Frannie, Doris, Betty and Myra. They have not been separated very long. Because of Jesus we will see them again. May the Holy Spirit give you all much comfort.

I've known Myra since I was a little girl growing up at Immannuel with Karin. She was a special lady and friend, loved by many. She was a great encouragement to me over the years. I can picture my mom rejoicing with her in heaven.
