Rafik Elia Obituary
Rafik Elia, 68, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones, on December 21, 2019 at Christiana Hospital.
Mr. Elia is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Antoinette, and their children, Victor (Kim) and Laurice (Peter).
A viewing for Rafik will be on Fri., Dec. 27th from 9:15 to10:45 am at St. Elizabeth Church, 809 S. Broom St, Wilmington, where his Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11 am. Interment in All Saints Cemetery, Wilmington.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Kidney Fund (kidneyfund.org).

My sincere condolences to the family. I first met Rafik -- the Mayor of ALICO -- in 1981 and last saw him in 2013. He was a kind, generous man who always looked out for others. Everyone at ALICO knew and loved Rafik. Ironically, not knowing who she was, I have crossed paths with Laurice at Easterseals. Laurice, I liked you immediately and knew there was something special about you, but couldn't quite put my finger on it. Now I knowyou are Rafik's daughter! You have the same warm, friendly disposition as your dad! I look forward to chatting with you if and when we see each other in the future. Please know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers.

I am saddened to learn of the passing of my very good friend Rafik. I will think of you and miss you the rest of my remaining life. I will see you soon Rafik and we can continue our never ending conversations. There is a new star in the sky and it is Rafik
