William L. Sanner, Sr., 78, of Wilmington, DE, passed away Thurs., March 19, 2009 in Regal Heights Nursing Home, Hockessin.
He was born on July 26, 1930 in Philadelphia, PA, son of the late William and Frances (Shahan) Sanner. William served his country in the United States Coast Guard. He retired 19 years ago from ICI. William was a charter member of the Wilmington Coin Club. Besides being an avid coin collector, he also enjoyed traveling, woodworking, and gardening.
Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth Sanner on July 22, 2008. He is survived by 2 sons, William Sanner, Jr. and his wife Marti of Camden and Robert Sanner and his wife Sharon of Wilmington; a sister, Lorraine Cannon of Bear, DE; and 3 grandchildren Mitchell Sanner and Robert Sanner, Jr. both of Wilmington and Ashley Sanner of Camden.
Services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
