Barbara DeNardo Obituary

Barbara A. DeNardo, 87 Formerly of Clifton Heights, PA Barbara A. DeNardo, 87, surrounded by her loving family, she died peacefully on September 5, 2011 in Crozer Hospital after a long battle with emphysema. Barbara was born in Portland, Oregon to Albert and Thelma Awad (Howard). At the age of two, she moved with her family to Allentown, PA. As a young adult, she moved to Philadelphia and subsequently met and married Frederick DeNardo. She and Fred eventually moved to Glenolden where they raised their three daughters. Barbara was a long-time waitress at the former Alpine Inn on Baltimore Pike in Springfield. In addition, she owned a beauty shop in Upper Darby for a number of years. After her working days were over, she served as a volunteer for six years at Taylor Hospital in Ridley Park. However, first and foremost, she was a great mother, a wonderful cook, a great beauty and one of "Everybody Loves Raymond's" biggest fans. Survivors: She is survived and will be greatly missed by her 3 daughters Barbara Vitucci of Havertown, Diane Campese of Wilmington, DE and Suzanne Chiasson of Bear, DE; also survived by her 10 grandchildren Joseph Suto, Jason Suto, Diane Marie Campese, Gabrielle Winters, Anthony Vitucci, Alexandria McCormick, Nicholas Chiasson, Edward Chiasson, Matthew Chiasson and Stephen Chiasson; 3 great-randchildren: Jack Winters, Claire Suto and Nathan Suto-O'Neill; she will be greatly missed by her loving and caring cousin Marianne Orgler who was instrumental in ensuring that her later years were made as comfortable as possible. Finally, her posse of friends and acquaintances at the Parkview Apartments in Boothwyn will surely miss her. Services/Burial: Private and provided by O'Leary Funeral Home.
