Linda McGinley

June 9, 2018

I don't know if you remember me, my is Linda McGinley , known as Mrs. M on Bus 5 quite a few years ago. I drove Michael to ETR in middle school. One day I noticed he wasn't on my bus for a couple weeks and I asked the kids where he was and they informed me that he had cancer. He was such a polite young man, one of the nicest young man on the bus. I sent Michael a get well card to your home wishing he would get better. One day I saw his mom coming out of ETR and she saw my bus in front of the school and you made it a point to come on my bus and hug me and tell me how much you appreciated my note and you gave a green bracelet with his name on it saying BeStrongBeBraveBelieve and I kept on the front of my bus 5 , Michael did come back that year a couple of months later looking great. I left Springfield in 2015. When I went to work for Lower Merion School I kept the bracelet on the dashboard of that bus to. I am retired now and I took all my personal stuff off my bus including the bracelet. It was in a box until about 2 months ago when I found it, I took it out and put it on and thought to myself I wonder what happened to Michael, hoping that all turned out well. Sad to say I went to the High school graduation tonight to see some of the kids I drove and how they grown through the years. As soon as we got there I heard them announce Michael's name and everyone clapped and his sister received his diploma. I asked one of the lady's I knew why was everyone clapping and she informed me that Michael passed away in March. I am so very sorry to hear of Michael's passing, I will always remember that cute blonde hair young man getting on my bus that always made it a point to say Good morning and have a good night to me. I will keep that bracelet in my jewelry box where it has been for the past couple months and every time I open it and see it I will remember that sweet young man and I will say he's home now with God and happy. Take care, and I hope this note finds you and your family with healing and hope. Yours truly, Linda McGinley (Mrs. M ) formerly Bus 5 with the nicest group of kids.

My favorite pictures of Mike and David. I said to Dave he always asked for you and looked up to you. David's response was it is the other way around.

Marina and Michael, I am saddened deeply by your loss. Yet I was inspired by the tremendous fight that Mikey waged against this terrible affliction. The brave battle he waged was and remains an inspiration for me. He is out of pain and, as was said, is with the Angels now. Take comfort in knowing how well you raised him to help him fight as he did. May God bless both of you and Laura at this time, and help you heal from this loss.
